Teresa Hill is the nutrition coordinator with DHEC’s Division of Obesity Prevention and Control (DOPC). The program focuses on ways to increase physical activity and improve nutrition practices, to include increasing breastfeeding rates in the state. DOPC works on population-based policy and environmental change initiatives for the prevention and control of obesity in South Carolina - the “spaces and places” that influence health behaviors. Teresa provides technical assistance and leadership on evidence-based breastfeeding strategies and interventions for various settings, such as hospitals, clinics, worksites, schools, communities, and faith-based organizations.
