The Breastfeeding Resource Guide

The McLeod Resource Center provides valuable health education material and resources for the community.

We offer a free lending library of books and videos along with a wide variety of brochures relating to women, children and teens. All of the maternity education classes, such as Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding, Baby Care Postpartum, Early Pregnancy Celebration, Maternity Tour, Big Brother/Big Sister and Friends & Family CPR, are scheduled out of the Resource Center. Our Lactation Consultants stress the importance and benefits to mother and child from breastfeeding; therefore, the Resource Center stocks Medela maternity/nursing bras as well as Medela breastpumps and accessories. The breastpumps are available for rent or for purchase. Also, all outpatient lactation consultations are seen in the Resource Center. Local support groups rely on the Resource Center to help with monthly mailings, photocopying and other clerical jobs. A computer is available to the public for Internet access to the most current health information; the staff is also available to research various health topics for individuals, as well.
